His story exemplifies how teachers and mentors can ignite passion and set students on paths to success.

His journey shows the enduring impact of community-focused education.
For Zenobia Ellis, a graduate of CICS West Belden, her time at the school set her on the path to becoming an educator. From a young learner navigating focus challenges to a third-year Early Childhood Education major, Zenobia’s story is one of resilience and growth. At CICS Irving Park, Magaly Zuniga discovered her passions and cultivated a love for learning that has defined her career. A graduate of the Class of 2016, Magaly is now a paraprofessional at the same school where she developed a growth mindset and empathy that she carries into her work with students daily. Reflecting on her journey, she credits the school for shaping her into the person she is and inspiring her future pursuit of speech pathology, all while sharing her love for languages and storytelling with her students.
