Distinctive Schools (DS) is committed to supporting students through out innovative learning model; our focus on Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, Mental Health & Wellness, and Learning Acceleration provide the time and space necessary to meet the unique needs of each student we serve. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Distinctive families shared the need for additional and deeper supports – in response, we launched the Re–Imagination Advisory Committee and the #BetterTogether fund. On Monday, March 7, Distinctive Schools CEO, Scott Frauenheim will join a panel of incredible leaders and policy makers (Phyllis Lockett of LEAP Innovations, Alyson Klein of EdWeek, and Christopher Rush of the US Department of Education) to speak about Reinventing Schools: Recovery Through Innovation at SXSW EDU.
Reinventing Schools: Recovery Through Innovation | COVID-19 exposed underlying cracks in our education system particularly in addressing the needs of minority and economically disadvantaged students. For students to succeed, and the economy to thrive, we must do more than patch the cracks. We must reimagine schools to better meet today's needs. This panel of policy-makers and practitioners will discuss the opportunity for innovative new school models to accelerate learning while preparing all students for tomorrow's challenges.
